Chinese Wenzhou Group Seminar: A Study of American Government

The Chinese Wenzhou group had a three-day seminar on Monday, November 3, Wednesday, November 5, and Thursday, November 6 for "A Study of American Government" in Hennings Hall. The seminar was sponsored by Kean University's College of Business and Public Administration and Office of International Studies. The Chinese Wenzhou group learned about many topics including Development of Public Personnel System, Homeland Security, and Public Budgeting & Financial Management. Among the lecturers were professors from Public Administration and Criminal Justice including Dr. Morgan Laury, Dr. Craig Donovan, Dr. Patricia Moore, and Dr. James Drylie.

CBPA Internship Fair - Fall 2008

College of Business and Public Administration Fall 2008 Internship Fair was held on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 1:00pm-4:30pm in Kean University's CAS Building on the 1st Floor. The event was sponsored by the College of Business and Public Administration Cooperative Education/Internship Program headed by Ms. Patricia A. Stoudt. Its tagline was "Your First Step for Success in the Real World." Students from Management, Marketing, Accounting, Economics & Finance, International Business, Criminal Justice, Public Administration and Computer Science attended and got to network with employers. The fair was designed for the best career move in getting the experience you need.

Remembering 9/11: Issues 08

Issues 08 was held on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 12:30pm in Kean University's Wilkins Theatre. Issues 08 is a new lecture series that was open to the entire Kean University community and examined key topics central to the presidential election. John J. Farmer, Jr. (Lessons of 911) was the first lecturer. As senior counsel to the 9/11 Commission Report, Mr. Farmer led the team investigating the federal government's response and examined the state of public and private sector preparedness.

Chinese Students Visit Kean University

On Tuesday, July 29, 2008, a group of Chinese undergraduate students from ZheJiang Province, WenZhou City, visited the Kean University campus and were welcomed by Kean University. Dr. Suling Zhang from Global MBA Program provided a presentation about the MBA in Global Management. Mr. Vincent Burke - Vice President of Facilities & Campus Planning - was giving a tour of the Kean University East Campus (see slideshow photos).

Dr. Jie Yang, an associate professor of management in the Department of Management, joined the Kean University faculty in August 2007. Since arriving at Kean, Yang has published seven articles and has had three others accepted for publication in highly ranked journals, such as the International Journal of Production Economics, the International Journal of Production Research, the International Journal of Quality and Reliability Management, Omega, Production Planning and Control, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Knowledge and Process Management, and the International Journal of Technology Management.
